Mental Health
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." Philippians 2:5
There is an overwhelming mental health crisis facing us in the world and in the church. The nearer we get to the return of Christ (and we are very near), the world will experience more and more chaos causing great distress among all classes of people. This distress is largely mental, but at such an intensity that it will affect the health and very life of many. The Bible says, "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26) Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." Luke 21:25, 26
There are many articles online about the effects the pandemic had and still has on people. The number of people who sought for online help with their mental health increased dramatically during the pandemic. Some articles state that over 5.4 million people took mental health screenings. Mental health has risen among the youth, they are experiencing higher rates of mental and emotional stress. Many of the elderly experienced loneliness and isolation during the pandemic and are still suffering the effects. Those that were separated from their loved one in nursing homes and hospitals at the time of their death are still experiencing mental and emotional grief.
As the distress in the world becomes greater and more intense, the risk for mental health conditions will continue to rise. Those who have Christ as their Lord and Savior need not fear. The Bible says, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7.
The Bible says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4) Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength." Isaiah 26: 3, 4.
The peace that God supplies is "perfect" peace. Inward peace, external peace, peace with God, peace of mind, peace of conscience, peace at all times, in all circumstances and through all events. Yes, even last day events. Those that have their mind fixed on the Lord and trust in Him, the Bible says of him, "He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD." Psalms 112:7.
Let your heart be fixed on God, and on the promises in His word. The truths of the Bible, received into the heart, will encourage, uplift, and strengthen you!

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8
