When Temple Restored first started working in Ghana teaching, preaching and doing evangelism, our burden was to see many people accept Christ into their hearts, and it is still our burden. However, we believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ can make the greatest impact in the lives of the poor when they are given a helping hand to lift them out of their poverty. When they see God working in their lives, that is when the gospel really comes alive in their heart. 

We realize we cannot help all of Africa, but we can help the churches that God has allowed us to raise up. It is our heart's desire to see every member of the church in a position where they can feed their families, earn a small living and be able to pay the school fees of their children. It has been a tremendous blessing to us and the church members to help them through various means. Different things help different members, and we are continually looking for ways we can provide for them to move forward and upward. ​

The True Fast

"Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? ​7) is it to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?"  Isaiah 58:6, 7

How God has blessed TR to help them:

• TR purchased two plots of land and built a church for the Akaporiso members who were worshipping in a school class room for three years. Later we purchased four plots of land for the Akaporiso church members to farm on.  We were also blessed to build a two story apartment on the farm property for the Bible workers housing. 
• Although the members volunteered to help, there was an ongoing work program at the church, where we hired church members to help with the building projects or other jobs that needed to be done at the church, farm or TR headquarters.
• Some of the ladies were trained by Rose, (the wife of a Bible worker) how to make bread to earn a living. She has a bread baking business that serves the church members in her area and other customers as well.
• After learning that members were going without food and sometimes for days, Windy was moved to start a "Feed the Hungry" food program where we supply a free meal to the church members once or twice per month at different churches. We take an after-church meal for granted but it is something they cannot afford. It is a very high Sabbath for them.
• TR has been working in Ghana since 2003, so the list could go on and on. However, this is just a short report to let you know that there are a variety of things that can be done to help the poor. We have built three churches, along with the TR headquarters, which are larger projects. Yet, there are simple things that can help such as, feeding a few families, providing simple work opportunities, purchasing small plots of land for them to farm, providing training, counseling them through their struggles, and praying with and for them. These go a long way to lift and encourage them.

"In the command to go into the highways and hedges, Christ sets forth the work of all whom He calls to minister in His name. The whole world is the field for Christ's ministers. The whole human family is comprised in their congregation. The Lord desires that His word of grace shall be brought home to every soul.
  To a great degree this must be accomplished by personal labor. This was Christ's method. His work was largely made up of personal interviews. He had a faithful regard for the one-soul audience. Through that one soul the message was often extended to thousands." Christ Object Lessons, p. 229

Akaporiso Farm is Growing!
