CHOOSE TO BE HEALTHY
Health begins in the mind with a choice. You first have to choose to be healthy. Choosing is the beginning of your journey to physical, mental and spiritual health. The apostle John says, " Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." 3 John 2.
CHOOSE TO BE DIFFERENT
After you make the choice to be healthy you then have to choose to be different. The Bible says, "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil." Exodus 23:2. The saying that "we are creatures of habit" is true. In the natural world if an animal sees another animal moving in a certain direction it wants to follow, then another, then another, until you have a whole herd of animals blindly following one another in the same direction. Generally speaking, in many ways we are no different. But when it comes to our health we should not have a "herd" mentality and follow blindly down a path which we know not where it leads. Just because something is in the media spot light does not mean it's true or good. We should be educated, informed and proactive about what we are doing, what we are taking, and how we are living. "Beloved, follow...that which is good..." 3 John 11.
CHOOSE TO FOLLOW GOD'S PLAN
Next you have to choose to follow God's plan for your health. God is the architect of your body, the Great Designer and He knows just what your body, mind and spirit are in need of. He has put His reputation on the line by promising us good health. But in order to receive this gift of health we have to do what He recommends. "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21) Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22) For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." Proverbs 4:20-22. The principles of health are found in the word of God, and we have to attend, or listen to what He has to say and put them into practice. If we do this, He promises that He will keep us from receiving the diseases of the Egyptians (Exodus 15:26), and not only that, but will restore our youthfulness. "Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." Psalms 103:5
CHOOSE TO BE CONSISTENT
Whatever healthy lifestyle regimen you adopt choose to be consistent. Make it part of your daily routine."Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following..." Luke 13:33. Good health habits build health. Your health or the lack thereof is determined by what you do today. If you implement healthy habits today, and tomorrow, and the next day, it is like building blocks that will eventually take shape into a sound healthy structure.
CHOOSE TO BE CREATIVE
The best way to ensure that you don't fall into a rut is to choose to be creative. There are so many healthy lifestyle choices you can make for your body, mind and spirit that you need not become a creature of habit and become disenchanted with your health journey. The variety in the plant kingdom is endless, there are hundreds of promises in the word of God, and scores of exercise routines to chose from that give you great results. There is a saying "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." So keep it fresh and fun-to-you and enjoy your healthy new experience.
