How many times have you heard the saying, "Don't sweat the small stuff"? You've probably have heard it thousands of times, and to the one who is always dealing with drama it sounds pretty logical.
Unfortunately, if you buy into this sentiment and live by it, you have programmed yourself to miss the mark on many things in life. Your decisions based off of 'not sweating the small stuff' can have eternal results for good or bad. After some time, it seems like most everything is viewed as small stuff. However, when it comes to negative words spoken to you from someone angry or devoid of wisdom, don't sweat it, reject it. When it comes to negative experiences in your life that are harmful in the long run, don't sweat them, let them go. It is little things that come together to make up big things. So don't sweat the small stuff, but rather take note of the little things in life that makes it what it is. God is concerned with the little things. "Life is chiefly made up, not of great sacrifices and wonderful achievements, but of little things. It is oftenest through the little things which seem so unworthy of notice that great good or evil is brought into our lives. It is through our failure to endure the tests that come to us in little things, that the habits are molded, the character misshaped; and when the greater tests come, they find us unready. Only by acting upon principle in the tests of daily life can we acquire power to stand firm and faithful in the most dangerous and most difficult positions." Ministry of Healing 490 "There are many who regard the expression of love as a weakness, and they maintain a reserve that repels others. This spirit checks the current of sympathy. As the social and generous impulses are repressed, they wither, and the heart becomes desolate and cold. We should beware of this error. Love cannot long exist without expression. Let not the heart of one connected with you starve for the want of kindness and sympathy." AH 107 "God tests and proves us by the common occurrences of life. It is the little things which reveal the chapters of the heart. It is the little attentions, the numerous small incidents and simple courtesies of life, that make up the sum of life happiness; and it is the neglect of kindly, encouraging, affectionate words, and the little courtesies of life, which helps compose the sum of life's wretchedness. It will be found at last that the denial of self for the good and happiness of those around us constitutes a large share of the life record in heaven. And the fact will also be revealed that the care of self, irrespective of the good and happiness of others, is not beneath the notice of our heavenly Father." AH 108
