TO HEARING AND READING THE WORD
Proverbs 8:34

Isaiah 2:3
Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.

Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Mark 4:24, 25
Unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
Isaiah 55:2, 3, 10-12
Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace.
Romans 10:17
Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Revelation 1:3
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein.
Romans 1:16
I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.
James 1:21
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
2 Peter 1:19
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.
Psalm 19:7, 8, 11
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Proverbs 6:23
The commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
LOVING THE WORD
Psalm 119:165
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
1Peter 2:2
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.
Psalm 112:1
Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
TREMBLING AT THE WORD
Proverbs 13:13
He that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
Isaiah 66:2
To this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 2 Peter 3:13-14
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 1 John 2:25
The work of transformation from unholiness to holiness is a continuous one. Day by day God labors for man’s sanctification, and man is to co-operate with Him, putting forth persevering efforts in the cultivation of right habits. He is to add grace to grace; and as he thus works on the plan of addition, God works for him on the plan of multiplication. Our Saviour is always ready to hear and answer the prayer of the contrite heart, and grace and peace are multiplied to His faithful ones. Gladly He grants them the blessings they need in their struggle against the evils that beset them. AA 532
